About HRS Clocks

HRS Clocks is the oldest service and restoration clock shop in Santa Barbara County. Located in world-famous Solvang, California. HRS (Horolgoical Restoration Services) was started by Ron and Julie Palladino in 1973. Originally founded in West Los Angeles, the Palladinos moved to Solvang in 1975 and began HRS, which eventually evolved into numerous successful companies, including the renowned Solvang Antique Center.

In 2010, Mr. Nikolaos K. Pliagas purchased HRS (Horological Restoration Services) from Mr. Palladino with the goal of continuing a tradition of fine horological service in Santa Barbara County and worldwide as the official horologist of the Solvang Antique Center.

Mr. Pliagas has 32 years of horological repair and restoration experience. He entered the trade in 1979, as an apprentice of Montana Clock Shop in Santa Monica. Due to industry demand, Mr. Pliagas began to take on his own personal clients soon and developed Nik of Time Clock & Watch Repair.

Fascinated with complicated mechanics since childhood, Mr. Pliagas\’s expertise lies in repairing and restoring antique clocks and high-end watches, especially problematic and complex timepieces that often perplex other master clockmakers and watchmakers.  In addition to servicing some of the finest clock and watches of today, Mr. Pliagas also specializes in the restoration of antique music boxes.

Committed to the craft of horology for three decades, Mr. Pliagas has passed on this specialized knowledge and tradition to numerous other clockmakers, many who are now also enjoy running their own successful businesses.

Mr. Pliagas has restored and repaired fine timepieces for clock and watch collectors, antique stores, business executives, celebrities and politicians, including California\’s two most recent governors. He has been a member of the National Association of Watch & Clock Collectors since 1991.
